INTEGRATED PSYCHOTHERAPY & FULL-BODY ACUPUNCTURE
Your sessions consist of psychotherapy and a full-body acupuncture treatment to address your mental health needs. This unique treatment model is the only one of its kind in the State of Michigan. Holistic psychotherapies use a bottom up approach because they physiologically reduce stress, anxiety, and address trauma by changing the autonomic nervous system and discharging negative emotions or trauma. Somatic psycho-therapies help you to relax and heal on a deep level so aspects of you can be accessed via talk therapy.
We look forward to working with you.
PSYCHOTHERAPY/TELE-THERAPY
Your sessions consist of holistic psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral, humanistic, interpersonal, and existential therapies) with guided meditations and breathing exercises which have shown significant results in relieving stress, depression, anxiety and trauma. You will also learn Traditional Chinese Medicine principles to heal your mind, body, and spirit.
CUPPING
As an adjunct therapy, cupping is an effective and safe technique used to relieve pain. It consists of selectively placing plastic or glass cups on acupuncture points that are suctioned to the skin. You will feel a localized pressure that goes away when the cups are removed. Cupping leaves marks on the skin that vary in color from pink to dark purple that go away within a few days to a couple of weeks.
Cupping causes tissues to release toxins, stimulates the lymphatic system, clears colon blockages, and activates and clears arteries, veins and capillaries.
Cupping is also used for chronic or acute pain, stress, respiratory disorders, and the common cold.
MOXA
Moxa is a form of heat therapy used to stimulate the flow of blood and is applied over certain acupuncture points to activate certain meridians.
Moxa is made from the dried leaves of the Artemisia vulgaris plant, commonly known as mugwort, and is rolled into sticks. These are the Moxa sticks that I use.
HERBAL MEDICINE
TCM herbal formula prescriptions perform specific actions and treat your particular needs. The herbal formula (a combination of different herbs)
treats the root cause of the disease. Chinese herbal formulas are mostly administered as capsules, pills, or as granules.
